Brian Kirk ( b.1966)

When I start to design a new lamp, I take time to deepen my understanding of the form, and I get to know it very well. I try all possible pathways, even those which seem the most evident. I test as many solutions as possible. I refine the interpretation and the light’s impact on me and my surroundings ”

I get inspiration from nature’s endless ways of diffusing the sun, in trees, water, sky, spiderwebs and human structures such as reflections back from windows to a second or third material, homes  when I walk or drive by and see the light diffused in the interior  “ I am like a night insect drawn into the light ”.

Lights nature fascinates me tremenduasly, I am constantly investigating it from all angels Sciencetificaly and spirutual. "Reality" (light) is reflections in the mind (personal/collectivly) interpretated / exsperinced by being, and that is what I strive for when I design, I need it to please my being.”
